Travel During The Times Of COVID-19

The wanderlust mind refuses to stay at home, locked in the confines of the four walls. With religious use of masks, sanitizers and handwash life has become monotonous and feels like a caged bird. Travel responsibily. Plan a short trip, get some basics, pack your bag and get going.

Here are ways to travel during the pandemic.

A destination closeby:

If researched well, one will come across several destinations in close proximity to one’s place of dwelling awaiting to be explored. Look for destinations within a radius of 100 – 500kms which can be traversed by a car. Go for beaches, riverside retreats, lake resorts etc. Avoid touristy or overcrowded places.

Pack your bags

Make a list of the basics. Add a few bottles of sanitisers and masks along. Carry your laptop in case you fall in love with the place and decide to extend your stay and work from your new home for the next few days.

Must Pack items

A few bottles of easy to carry sanitisers, pocket sanitisers, disposable masks, soap papers, toilet sanitisers, slippers, gloves and a shower cap. Medicines and other essentials like tea bags, a few packets of biscuits, ready to cook food and instant noodles can be kept handy.

Book a decent place to stay

Choose a hotel that has 50% or more green space. Pre-book a place to stay which prioritizes cleanliness and hygiene. Also, check their protocols on sanitation. Avoid using the swimming pool, gym and sauna. Ensure that you take a walk in and around the property and explore the nearby areas early morning.
